Sean Bourke was promoted in March 2020 to serve as the Assistant Director of Development with Wisconsin Athletics. In his current role, Bourke will focus on the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors to the annual fund as well as assist with major gift initiatives and internal operations.
He joined the University of Wisconsin Athletics Development staff in March 2018 as Development Coordinator where he focused on the annual fund, stewardship and engagement events, as well as provided support for premium seating, major gifts and internal operations.
Prior to Wisconsin, Bourke was a Development Assistant at the University of Nebraska. At Nebraska, his responsibilities focused on prospect management, data analysis, and donor stewardship for the Nebraska Athletics Leadership Society and Student-Athlete Experience Fund. During his time at Nebraska, Bourke participated in the 2017 Emerging Leaders Seminar at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind. Previously, he also has served as an intern with the Loyola University Chicago Athletics Department and an Athletic Communications Assistant at Loras College.
Bourke earned a Master’s of Arts in Business, specialization in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration (MAIAA) from the University of Nebraska (’18) and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Sport Management from Loras College (’16). While at Loras, he was a 4-year letterwinner and captain of the men’s basketball team.
Bourke resides in Fitchburg with his fiancée, Sarah and their dog, Gracie.
